How many four year olds will it take to break a box of crayons? Ha, in my experience, ONE!! That is why this is such a fun and resourceful diy project. Let’s get past the resourceful part {booooooring} and on to why this is such a fun idea for you and your kids. If your little munchkins are anything like mine, they LOVE to take the paper off there crayons (hence the easy breakage!), so when you actually sit them down and ask them to unwrap all of their broken crayons they are going to think you are the coolest mom in town. I love to mix the colors, while some may prefer to keep it simple and divide by color, either way you can incorporate a learning element and work on color recognition and combination. If you want to try it out, see the directions below. Enjoy!!
Materials: crayons (with no paper wrapping), cupcake pan and paper covers, oven, oven mitts
Instructions: heat oven to 250 degrees, line cupcake tray as though you are making real cupcakes, divide crayon pieces as you wish, place in oven and bake for 15 minutes, carefully remove tins and allow to cool (swirl colors with a toothpick while the wax is hot for an added touch!) peel off cupcake paper and you are ready to color!
Check out this great idea, crayon Valentine cards! You have a full year to start saving up all of those broken crayons for next February. What a fun and creative way for you and your child to make personalized Valentine’s for his/her friends. I am without a doubt going to do this with my daughter next year!

What a great idea!!
Nice idea, I see you did “give credit” of where you found your images, but did you ASK to use the images? I know that answer to be a resounding NO! Take your own pics! or ask for permission!
