party garden party

My second daughter is turning one this August and I can’t wait for her party, I love any excuse to get creative. The only hard part is picking out the perfect theme for the munchkins. While I decided against the garden theme (probably better suited for my 4 year old) I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share my finds with you all. I love the fact that you can bake and make treats with the eggs and then use the shells to plant a mini garden during your party. I found some great little planters at the dollar store that perfectly house a single egg shell for each of your little guests to decorate, plant, and take home as a parting gift.  Adorn your tables with colorful fruits, veggies, and treats like these marzipan candies and keep your guests busy by having each of them color a canvas flag for this garden banner (the perfect keepsake for the birthday girl to have forever). With little touches, like this wheel barrel drink cooler, your party will be a huge hit. Little details can go a long way!

Whatever you do, don’t pass up on the dirt pudding cake (recipe here), my personal fave, and for some reason kids love the fact that it looks like they are eating soil. Weird, but oh so yummy!
