My son loves to be outdoors. It seems like time just flies when we are out walking or playing or at the park. But what about when it rains? What kind of things are good and entertaining for both of us when it is pouring outside? First and foremost I must mention that my little one is crazy for balls, and loves his little tykes basketball hoop that we keep in the basement. Other than that, I have learned that there are a ton of indoor activities that are a ton of fun, and most importantly educational as well.
We are getting huge into books right now. From a certain age, kids really get into looking at the pictures and trying to follow along with the story as well. Puzzles are also a great educational tool that can help pass time on those gloomy, stormy days. A topic I touched on earlier are the Baby Einstein or Athletic Baby movies that are enlightening and fun for little ones. Just make sure you don’t put them on repeat and let you child zone in for hours at a time. One last thing that my son loves, that is great with motor skill development, are the building blocks. I have actually caught myself continuing to build my castle long after my son has moved on to something else!
Hope this helps give you some ideas for some rainy days in your future. Keep reading and enjoying. See you next week.
