It is time to get my body back to normal. I am so over feeling like I have to put everything ahead of what is important, starting with my personal health and nutrition. Tomorrow is the day I say goodbye to my fat clothes. Over the summer I chose to penalize myself with not being allowed to purchase new, fun clothes. So not only am I up a few lbs. but I also have a dumpy wardrobe. My 29th bday is fast approaching and I’ve come to terms with the fact I should really get my act together before  total crisis happens in a year. So wish my luck because my will power isn’t going to get me this time!

Sassy Water’s name comes from its creator Cynthia Sass Prevention Magazine Nutrition Director. It’s components help to kick start the task of a flat belly!

SASSY WATER RECIPE:

2 liters water (about 8 ½ cups)
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
12 small spearmint leaves.

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and let flavors blend overnight.

Drink the entire pitcher by the end of each day.

TEN FOODS TO AVOID:

Salt. Water is attracted to sodium. The more salty foods you each the puffier you get.

Excess Carbs. We have a certain type of carb called glycogen that is stored with 3 grams of water per each gram of glycogen,

Bulky Raw Foods. Cooked veggies take up less space in your GI Tract.

Gassy Foods like legumes, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, onions, peppers, and citrus fruits.

Chewing Gum can expand your belly when you take in air during each chew.

Sugar Alcohols like xylitol and maltitol can cause gas, abdominal distention, bloating, and diarrhea.

Fried and Fatty Foods are digested slowly which cause you to feel heavy.

Spicy foods can cause stomach irritation.

Carbonated Bevs also bubble up in your tummy

High Acidic Drinks such as alcohol, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and acidic fruit juices can cause swelling in your GI tract.
