Here is another great holiday decor inspiration table from my findings last week at The Affair Minneapolis. This rich design by the crew at Festivities offer a beautiful ensemble for bribing Santa. “Some people get what they want easily…others need a little edge. This table offers him a lot more than plan ol’ milk and cookies. We’re betting that leaving a little something extra for the man in red will ensure a little something extra under the tree this year!” My favorite tip was what they used for assigned seating. Plain mugs and a special marker (dry-erase marker will do) can create the perfect parting gift at your holiday dinner parties. If you feel like upgrading for your guests, use the following recipe to make some decadent homemade dark chocolate truffle recipe.
Basic Recipe for Dark Chocolate Truffles:
In a bowl over warm- NOT hot water melt:
1lb. Dark Chocolate
NOT chocolate chips-the better the chocolate the better the candy
Set aside while you heat:
1 cup heavy cream
Heat to a scald then pour over melted chocolate and mix just until combined then add:
8oz. Butter
and 2oz. of any flavorings desired. This can be liqueur or vanilla or flavoring compounds. Stir until smooth and pour into clean shallow pan and chill. When set use a spoon or scoop of some type to form round vall. These can then be hand rolloed in any chopped nut, cocoa powder or powdered sugar. They could also be coated in chocolate and chilled again. Store up to one week chilled.
