The Book of Eli movie image Denzel Washington

I am a huge fan of any movie involving Denzel Washington, so I was looking forward to seeing this movie without really knowing much about it (I kind of like going into movies without having any expectations, the usually turn out better because I don’t end up being disappointed…). The Book of Eli was one of those movies that leaves you thinking for hours, even days. In fact I saw it for the first time two weeks ago and I am still talking about it, I can’t say much, because I don’t want to spoil the fun for you all who haven’t seen it just yet, but I can tell you that it is phenomenal–especially if you are a Christian. There are so many biblical references it is unbelievable. In fact I am still recognizing some of them weeks after seeing the movie. I was sitting in the car yesterday, on my four hour drive from Fresno to LA, and I thought “Oh, so when he didn’t do that, but then did that instead, and then did that for over thirty years, he was like that the entire time, which really had a deeper meaning than what you see on the surface. Or don’t see.” Deep right? Yes I know, it is going to be way over your head until you go out and see it for yourself. So check it out and come back to talk to me about it. It will be more fun that way…
