gossip happy hour mom rant #1

We are always an open platform for Happy Hour Mom ranting and raving. Being a mom is a dang tough job. We have implemented a forum for a great place to chat.

Things i hate and wish more people cared about rant:

1. Highchairs at restaurants…if they clean tables and floors…shouldn’t they be responsible for cleaning kids seats?

2. Seatbelts…in highchairs at restaurants should all be in working order. If they are broken or even sometimes unbelievably MISSING they should be replaced.

3. Seatbelts…in the cars attached to grocery carts. These are made for kids. Why are the seatbelts always broken or missing?!

4. Diaper changing facilities…every restaurant and public restroom should have one. And now I come back to seatbelts…refer back to no. 2. Believe it or not…not all airports bathrooms have changing tables. Miami for example.

5. I love starbucks but admit they were way behind on making their shops more mom and child friendly. Two of our 5 local starbucks JUST got a kids highchair. Who needs a coffee break more than us moms….

Ok. Thanks for letting me rant!

We dine out a lot, not at high-end places, but family dining and fast food. We don’t have children, so I can’t speak about the child seats, but there’s really not a whole lot of proper cleaning going on anywhere. No matter where we go, we find crumbs or grease on the seats and smears on the table. We’re lucky if there’s not something floating in our water glasses or dried onto the silverware.

Here’s where I think the problems are:
*workers are overworked; everyone’s cutting back staff
*workers are lazier; no one takes pride in their work
*restaurant inspections are getting lax
