ages stages hhm tip | what to do with leftover baby food

Our babies all grow up way too fast. By the time we are mentally prepared for the next step in their lives they are practically blown through it and on to the next. While living in Hungary, I wanted to take some of my happy hour time to get into a routine of making my own baby food. By the end of our stay, I had it down pat. Every meal consisted of making just a little bit extra to be pureed. I actually really enjoyed making my new concoctions of chicken and apple or sweet potato and squash. Upon our stateside arrival I whipped up a quick batch of Baby D’s favorites to have on hand. Within a blink of an eye he was on to bigger and better things and I was left with a freezer full of baby food. My husband has grown to enjoy way more fruits and veggies than he ever consumed. After thinking about the magic trick behind such books as Deceptively Delicious, I started throwing a cube here and a cube there. My hubby had no clue how many extra nutrients he was getting inside he meals. Don’t waste your baby food just start hiding it in new dishes. Spaghetti sauce, chocolate cake, and smoothies are an easy combination.

Great idea! I would also LOVE to know where those fabulous containers, pictured above, came from.
