We could not be more excited to be on our way to 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week! Diet Pepsi has offered Happy Hour Moms Shannon Hughes and Toni Danielson (that’s us!) the opportunity of a lifetime. We will act as official on-air correspondents for Diet Pepsi, giving Happy Hour Mom readers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look and refreshing take on traditional runway shows.

We are honored by the opportunity to attend shows and events throughout the week, plus, work with the IMG film crew and have the opportunity to capture exclusive celebrity and designer interviews, be on-call for local and national media sources, and of course, blogging, tweeting, sharing, for all of you to follow our New York adventure. We will be provided a refreshing dose of Happy Hour every hour, so have that Diet Pepsi ready and make sure you are following HappyHourMom on Twitter, and Like the HappyHourMomPage on Facebook –you don’t want to miss out!

We kick off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week by following the work of four heartland designers that will be bringing their unique hometown perspective to three fall looks for the everyday woman. The four designers, Project Runway alum and Dallas-based Shirin Askari, Colorado’s Rachel Hurst of The House of Rae Marie, Genoveva Christoff of Columbus, OH and Elise Berman of Chicago, Illinois will provide a refreshing take on the runway experience with the help of Simon Doonan at the Diet Pepsi Style Studio fashion show. Each collection, concepted by Doonan, will have key style trends inspired by the sleek Diet Pepsi can. We can hope to see fierce animal prints, office chic workwear and metallic finishes on February 9th. For consumers who miss out on the Diet Pepsi Style Studio fashion show, they will have the opportunity to view the looks displayed in the Pepsi Refresh Studio–designed by none other than Jonathan Adler. The Diet Pepsi Refresh Studio will be located in the Grand Lobby of Lincoln Center, and we can’t wait to hang out and see who stops by. Don’t worry, we will be sure to share every second of it–we expect nothing short of fabulous!

Our personal goal will be to experience Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week through the eyes of internationally-inspired moms on the go. Although we hail from California and Minneapolis, Minnesota we have lived all over the map, in over 10 countries between the two of us, and will certainly be looking for those look with international flavor. With the help of Diet Pepsi we will seek looks that translate into any wardrobe, even that busy stay-at-home mom or working mom on the go. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is a time to draw inspiration for our wardrobes and find practical, affordable ways to update our current looks–we can’t wait to be your inside source!
