Need a fun, easy and delicious craft for your toddlers? A girlfriend of mine was doing me a huge favor by babysitting so my hubby and I could have a night out. I wanted to make her night an easy one by having a few activities for our kids. I recalled the days when I’d go to camp. When the sun went down, the campfires would come out. Each night I remember participating in different food-related activities. S’mores, popcorn and roasting hot dogs were always common but my favorite campfire treat were the banana boats. Bananas are a staple treat in our house. My son and I love to dip ours in peanut butter and crushed almond to take away our sweet tooth. We decided to take this super easy project it to the next level.
Start by slicing the banana the long ways down the middle. Make sure it doesn’t cut all the way through. Allow the kids to stuff their banana boat with their favorite candies or nuts. Grab a spoon and let them scoop it out! If you’d like the campfire version. Place the banana on foil. Cover completely and place over the coals for a few minutes.
