Three weeks into the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Program I am happy to share that I have lost a whopping 12 lbs.! My journey has not been as perfect, and I have not been as disciplined as I’d like, but I am taking it day by day, and most importantly, I am seeing results! I have been great about cutting out my unhealthy snacks throughout the day (eh em, chocolate), and have made an effort to have healthy snacks available–carrots, edamame and broccoli are my new best friends. The one struggle is that there are times that we just have to eat out, so I have been forced to improvise. While dining out means that I can’t stay true to the Nutrisystem meals, I am careful to make smarter choices and do my best to avoid extra calories. This comes with portion control and being intentional about what I am ordering. I love that so many restaurants have the calories listed on the menu, and many allow for low-cal options and substitutions to make it even easier to stay on track.
In addition to sticking to the meal plan, and my smaller portions, I have been disciplined about working out. I have not worked out on a consistent basis since having my first daughter– she’s 7! I have gone on spurts here and there, but nothing consistent enough to show results. With my current goal to make it to the gym 3-5 days a week, I am “making” time to get a workout in. I absolutely LOVE the spin classes. For me it is about finding a workout that allows me to get the most bang for my buck. Meaning, I want to get the best possible workout, and leave feeling as though I truly accomplished something, in a reasonable amount of time. With the motivation and direction of the instructor, I push myself for a solid 45 minutes, and leave feeling great! I recently started light lifting after every cardio workout (45 min on the Eliptical if I miss the spin class), and will let you keep you posted on how that’s going.
All in all, my weight-loss journey has been a success thus far. I have a long, LONG way to go, but I finally feel like I am getting over the hump. Once you start to see (and feel) the results, it is so much easier to keep the momentum going. In my first couple weeks when things got tough, I was inspired by the momentum and enjoyed the encouraging stories from my fellow Nutrisystem Nation Bloggers. Here are a few of my faves:
Kecia at Southern Girl Ramblings
Beth at BethsCouponDeals.blogspot.com
Trisha at MakeUpFiles.com – this woman is a Rock Star!
Thank you ladies, for inspiring me to stick with it and push forward. Keep it up!

Wow, great job in losing so much in just 3 weeks! I just finished up my third week and haven’t lost even half of that! I struggle with eating out, which I think caused me to only lose 1 pound this week (a loss is a loss though, so I’m not complaining!). Keep up the awesome work…I look forward to hearing about your results next week!
Thanks Kecia! My goal is to stay as consistent as possible, I am sure I’ll have good weeks and not-so-good weeks. The fact that we are making healthy changes is a great start! Stick with it : ) Slow and steady wins the race…
