still enjoying our holiday toys | walmart shopping
Now that we are well into the new year, the only reminder of the holiday season is that house on the corner that just doesn’t want to let go of those old school Christmas lights, and the refreshing preoccupation of my little ones as they enjoy their newest toys. As a family we try to keep things relatively simple during the holidays. We get one “big” gift for each of the girls and 2-3 gifts off of their wish list. Two from mommy and daddy, and one from Santa. This year, my husband and I decided to get ALL of the shopping for our kiddos done in one day. It sounds crazy, I know, but with our busy schedules it made the most since for us. So instead of driving around town and dealing with holiday traffic and shoppers, we went to the one place with the most variety and the best prices–Walmart!
The shopping list was simple:
The best part about Christmas gifting this year? We knocked out all of this items in ONE TRIP to Walmart, and they are still enjoying their gifts as though they got them yesterday. And if you have an 8 year old or a 4 year old, you know how quickly gifts get tossed aside! I know it has a lot to do with their ages and the fact that they are becoming more and more independent, but it doesn’t hurt that the gifts were AMAZING! Looking back at your Christmas celebration of 2012, what gift(s) made the biggest splash in your family?
