Gena Kirby lives in Fresno and is a wife, mother, Doula, Founder of Mommy Matters Online, LLLI breastfeeding peer counselor, radio show host, (Progressive Parenting 88.1 FM KFCF Thursdays at 1pm-2pm for more info on show go to www.kfcf.org), and host of Mommy Matters Live on CentralValleyTalk.com.

She is also on the Board of Directors for Attachment Parenting International (www.attachmentparenting.org) and is on their editorial review board. She serves on the Fresno Breastfeeding Task Force and is a member of Childbirth Resource Network and acts as a Doula on their Teen Doula Program (a program that provides Doula Services for free for teenagers 12-18 years old).

She was also recently presented with the Mommies Matter Annual Award by CRN Childbirth Resource Network for: Promoting, protecting, and practicing in a manner that upholds Birth as normal, Breastfeeding as the gold standard, and for putting Mommies and Babies FIRST.
